PSA : Public Sunshine Announcement

I'm off on my jollies for a week tomorrow - YAY! So just a quickie (ooer) to let you know that all orders placed AFTER 6pm tonight will not be processed until WEDS 5th OCTOBER.

Get your orders in this afternoon if you want a quick Sunshine fix before then. The Hello Sunshine shop and Etsy will be staying open while I'm away so you can still place orders, you'll just have to wait a wee bit longer until I'm home again to post them.

Ooh and if you want holiday spam be sure to give my @jo_want instagram account a little stalk over the next week. I'll be posting to odd snap to my Facebook Page and my @sunshine_jo account too.

#HelloSunshineMarathon

If you follow my @sunshine_jo instragram you *might* have noticed the odd post with the hashtag #hellosunshinemarathon. On my personal account (@jo_want if you also follow that) you will have seen it crop up much more as I took a silly snap of my feet after every training run along with a quote from some of my favourite Will Ferrell films.

I will most likely write a longer, more informative blog post about my marathon training and the experience leading up to, on and after the day itself but for today I'd just like to say...

I ONLY WENT AND BLOODY DID IT!

Yup, today I plodded my way slowly around 26.2 miles of Nottingham listening to Disney soundtracks and eating haribo. Not a bad way to spend Sunday 😎

Now... where's ALL THE CHEESE?!

Cambridge Creatives Photowalk FUN!

Nearly two weeks ago (two weeks tomorrow actually - where did that time go?) I had the absolute pleasure and honour of helping to arrange and take part in the first Cambridge Creatives Photowalk with Claire and a group of wonderful, colourful and creative beans! You might have remembered me sharing the map and event info on here and all over my social media accounts at the time and since then I've been typing up and trying to finish my little account of such a fun-filled day to share with you all.

A few weeks ago we had discussed the route and I then got to have a lot of fun drawing up a map for the day, trying to capture lots of the key things we would encounter along the way!

I was super happy with how the map turned out and really enjoyed doodling lots of Cambridge related icons for a little bingo sheet we decided to include for the day's activities too...

On the day the weather decided to change from week long sunshine into a day of downpour but it didn't matter one bit because so many lovely folk still rocked up with colourful wellies, dresses, brollies and ponchos galore! It was AMAZING!

It seems the rain didn't put any one off and if anything, we got to the see the best selection wellies and brollies ever! I mean, just check out the line up of awesome brollies and happy faces in the rain here...

Claire had also arrange with the lovely folk of Cambridge Satchel Company to loan some of the brightest (and most beautiful!) satchels for the day. As well as making the group swoon and lust for satchels of their very own, they provided the PERFECT props and pops of colour for everyone's photos on the day. I fell in love with the gorgeous bright pink number...

From streets lined with gorgeous front doors and floral displays to beautiful bikes and a sneaky peek in to the lido, the day was packed with fun things to photograph.

Even the cows got involved...

The walk ended with the stunning view of Kings College followed by delicious gelato from Aromi - the perfect way to end a walk whatever the weather!

I think it's safe to say everyone who turned up (from near and far) had a fun day exploring Cambridge through their lenses. You don't have to take my word for it though, just check out the hashtag on Instagram to view everyone's amazing snaps from the day: #CambridgeCreativePhotowalk.

If you'd like to read more accounts from the day too make sure you pop over to check out Claire's beautiful blog and take a nosey at the facebook event page for more accounts and updates.

I am so honoured to have been part of it all, I can't thank Claire enough for organising and leading such a fun-filled day and I can't bloomin' wait for the next one... roll on Spring time!

Behind the scenes...

It's not all perfect pictures of cats, tea and tidy desks at Sunshine Towers... today it's ALL about stacks of receipts, to do lists, random bits of paper and forgetting where those 'somewhere safe' places are that I tend to leave important things...

ARGH! Send more tea.... please!

Sunshine Interviews

Hello and happy Thursday!

I thought I'd pop by to share a lot of love for some other blogs who have been super kind and have recently invited me to have a chat and publish little interviews about me, the kitties and my business. I always feel completely overwhelmed when anyone asks me to chat about what I do and wants to publish it on their blogs - it's a real honour and I just hope that people enjoy reading the waffle I come out with!

Live it. Love it. Make it

The gorgeous Sammy and H from this fantastic blog invited me to be a guest in their Makers Month series. They are the NICEST and I love everything about their blog and the way they work together! The sentiment behind the brand and what their blog is about is perfect too:

Live it. Explore where you live, make the most of the area you live in, but don't be afraid to venture further afield in search of inspiration... and cake.

Love it. Enjoy your life and what you do, spend each day noticing the simple things to make your life the best it can be.

Make it. We encourage you all to have a go, learn a new skill, create and inspire others to make the world around you unique as you are.

I highly recommend you check out the blog if you don't already follow along and you can read the little interview I did with them by following this link: liveitloveitmakeit.com.

Handmade Nottingham

I'm sure you all know how much I love Handmade Nottingham and the amazing Rhea who runs this perfect little shop in the heart of Nottingham. Not only does Handmade Nottingham supporting so many local creatives by showcasing and selling so may wonderful things, they also now organise and host market events at the Malt Cross. I was lucky enough to get into the first one in the Summer and it was great fun. The Malt Cross was decked out in the most amazing bunting and paper decorations, there were stalls everywhere and the buzz in and around the bar was brilliant!

Rhea has started a Meet the Maker series over on the Handmade Nottingham blog, which features everything from meeting the lovely folk who stock the shop and behind the scenes peeks to DIYs and tutorials. I was thrilled to be asked to take part and you can read the post here: handmadenottingham.com/blog

If you're ever in Nottingham make sure you pop in and have a nosey around the gorgeous shop (take all of your pocket money!) and also enjoy a coffee and cake next door in the grand surroundings of the Malt Cross which is wonderful old Victorian music hall.

Cry Baby Club

Over the Summer I started chatting the absolute babe that is Kaitlyn, who runs the Cry Baby Club blog over in Milwaukee. Possibly one of the sweetest, nicest girls I ever did meet (even if it is only over the internet!) I love the Cry Baby Club and everything they stand for, I mean just read their intro:

Welcome to the corner of the internet where it's ok to cry! We are an all inclusive girl gang and flair shop dedicated to celebrating sensitivity as a strength, lifting each other in love and support, and proving that just because we cry doesn't mean we cant get things done. We are so glad you are here.

It's so important to embrace your feelings and NEVER be ashamed to show or share how you're feeling, especially if you're struggling. That's why I love the Cry Baby Club and when Kaityln invited me to work on something bespoke for their subscription box I jumped at the chance! You can have a peek at what I created for the box and read a bit more about why I think feelings are important and what makes me blub over on the Artist Spotlight feature here: thecrybabyclub.com/blog

Simply Stylish Makes

Simple Stylish Makes is a blog ran by a group of super creative and utterly wonderful creatives, Jo of Adventure and Tea Parties being one of them! When Jo contacted me over the Summer for a quick chat and a peek in to the world of Hello Sunshine I was more than happy to jump on board. Grab a brew and have pop over to see what we nattered about here: simplestylishmakes.com

As well as working on the Simple Stylish Makes blog, Jo also makes beautiful personalised and hand embroidered handkerchiefs, handmade bow ties, pocket tissue holders, key rings and jewellery. Make sure you pop over to her own blog, check out her colourful instagram feed and shop the many pretties of her Etsy shop.

So, there you have it, four amazing blogs that I am absolutely honoured and thrilled to be a part of recently! I hope you've enjoyed reading about them and more importantly I hope you enjoy exploring them all and I may have introduced you to some wonderful new corners of the internet!

Thank you for reading and have a lovely evening!

NEW Project Van products NOW LIVE!

I am so excited (and a tiny bit nervous) to finally be able to announce that the VERY FIRST products for Project Van are NOW LIVE on hello-sunshine.co.uk! YAY! If you missed the little introduction to the Project you can have a little read of my previous post here or check out the instagram hashtag for sneaky peeks #hellosunshineprojectvan.

Since that first blog post (and for months before) I have been beavering away behind the scenes, working on lots of samples for new products based on my growing collection of VW Camper Van doodles. Now things have started to come together I'm here with the first lot of Project Van goodies that I'm unleashing on the world! They are called Colour-Me Campers and feature downloadable colouring in pages and colour your own greeting cards...

There are 5 designs to chose from and my plan is to release 5 new Campers to the Colour-Me collection every month between now and Christmas - yes I said the C-word!

Seeing as it's the start of a new month (hello September!) I thought I'd begin by introducing the first 5 Campers today...

If you're wondering, every Camper has been named as well as given a number and each name represents a special person from my family. There's a helluvalot of love and some very fond memories mixed in with the whole of this Project, I'm having a bit too much fun pulling everything together if you hadn't already guessed...

It's been a few years since I made and sold cards but a lot of you have asked about when the Campers were coming back so I really hope you like the new designs and products I'm introducing today. I hope they make you smile and you're also as excited as me about the coming weeks and new products I'll be releasing... here's a peek at something I'm VERY EXCITED about...

....keep those peepers peeled!
