What I Wore Today : Book Entry No.8

I love fancy dress and doodling so I had a lot of fun doodling this entry and remembering the Mexican themed party I had earlier this year! Hey Gringo, what do you think?

Lovely Jubilee!

A new doodle that will be making its way onto some shiny new cards especially for the Diamond Jubilee next weekend.

You can purchase one at the fantabulous Craft in the City Jubilee fair which is taking place on Saturday 2nd June at St Mary's Church in Nottingham.

Come on down and join the fun! It would be lovely to see some happy faces, drink some Pimms and share the jubilations of the day with you all! Find out more at: www.craft-inthecity.co.uk.

Small things: No.3

Thinking back to the lovely list of ten things that will be making my life better as I do and document them here... I am at number three on the list now.

But first I thought I'd let you know how I've been getting on continuing with the first two points - No.1 Dress like it matters and No.2 Read more.

So... as well as making the effort to paint my nails more often and think that little bit more about my hair day to day (which has indeed helped me feel better in itself!) I have also recently purchased a couple of very nice costume jewellery rings to add that little extra to my outfits now and then! This one was a birthday present but is my current favourite...

And regarding reading more, since finishing the fantastic Millennium Trilogy I have since finished the 'witty and subtle family drama' that is 'A spot of bother' by Mark Haddon. Mark Haddon also wrote 'The curious incident of the dog in the night time' which I loved reading! I can't say I enjoyed this book as much but it was an interesting read. Now I am ready to start my next book, which I'll fill you in on as soon as I pick it!

So leading nicely back onto the next one on the list:

3. Watch less. You could do one evening a week with no television, or even one week....or a month?

Now this one may be more interesting if I actually document how much television I DO watch as I already value quiet time to myself and very rarely turn the idiot box on. For example, this week the only TV I have watched has been on my birthday (last Tuesday) and even though it was a fair few DVDs - Fantastic Mr Fox, Disney's Robin Hood, Despicable Me and Hercules to be precise - I haven't since watched anything else.

So maybe the next time I recap this points I'll update you on what real telebox I have watched but for now I can take comfort in knowing that I don't really need to learn to live without watching the boob tube.

Have you made any little changes in your life recently that you'd like to share? I'd love to know!

Adventures in Amsterdam...

Amazingly awesome Amsterdam was my new place and number 5 on my hit list for 2012. I think it's safe to say I will definitely be going back to finish off the love affair I have just started!

Bikes. Cheese. Sunshine. Soup. Coffeeshops. Wonky buildings. Mint Tea. Canals.

I ♥ Amsterdam!

Facial hair, bikes and foxes... What more do you need?

...aside from a fox with facial hair riding a bike maybe?

I have just celebrated (and am still celebrating!) my 28th birthday. Ooo grown up yes? Some may think so but as my Mummy said to me on the day... "Growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional" and I am in now rush to choose the grown up path of life!

I think this was reflected in some of my amazing presents and cards this year... can you spot the themes? (Despite the massive clue in the title of this post...ahem!)

I have been spoilt rotten this year and am still overwhelmed by all of my lovely birthday wishes and the thoughtful and awesome gifts I received. I actually can't thank my friends and family enough!

You all rule! True story.

What I Wore on my Birthday!

Today I turned 28 and this is what I was wearing whilst I unwrapped beautiful gifts, opened amazing cards, received a bouquet of sunshine and watched Disney films...

This is the 7th entry in the awesome What I Wore Today book, number 6 was all about the hats!

I'll be back to tell you more about my birthday weekend and share some of the lovely things I've been spoiled with today. I am a lucky lady that's for sure and I love my friends and family more than words can describe...

Before I get too emotional I shall leave you as I'm off out for burgers and wine to celebrate another year in Jo land. Have a lovely Tuesday everyone!
